A mom once asked me, "when is all-stars over?".  I answered, "When you lose your last game".  That has never been truer than this last season.  Our 9-year-olds played in the District Championship game, lost ending their season.  

The 10-year-olds advanced from District to State Tournament (extending the League's streak to 25 years) before winning three games, making the State Semi-finals, and losing their game and ending their summer.  

The 11-year-olds won Districts (marking the 50th team to qualify for the State Tournament since 2000).  They won two games but were knocked out in the final four of the State Tournament.  

The Twelve B team was eliminated in District play but received an invitation to play in an international tournament at Rutenberg on July 7th to 11th.  

The Twelve-year-olds swept the districts and then swept the State Tournament, beating Key West and Okeeheelee to become STATE CHAMPS!  This was our 7th State Championship following 2004, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2017, 2023. Their season continues in the Southeast Regionals starting July 15th at Ft. Myers American.  So, you can see, I gave that mom a correct answer. 

This is my to families of SFMLL/Youth Baseball after 30 years as a volunteer, 24 as your League President.  I am not disappearing, I will be around just not as President.

If you were not selected, we encourage you to keep working hard and not get discouraged. You are all South Strong!

Congratulations to our 2025 All Stars!

We're thrilled to announce that Michael Watkins has launched a nonprofit organization called "Play It Forward" to help children in our community get involved in sports! 

We Need Your Help!  Between now and Saturday, May 3rd, Michael, along with his South Majors Diamondbacks teammates will be collecting lightly used or new sports items (any sport), which will be donated to the Children’s Advocacy Center to support the Pine Manor Project.

All collected items will be picked up from South Fort Myers Babe Ruth League, by the Children’s Advocacy Center, on May 3rd, at 1:00 PM. 

This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in our community.

If you have any sports equipment or items to donate, please reach out to anyone on the Majors Diamondbacks team.

The team will be at Field 1 and any team parent, player or Coach can accept donations on:  

Wednesday, April 23rd from 5pm to 8pm

Wednesday, April 30th from 5pm to 8pm

Saturday May 3rd, from Noon to 1pm. 

You may bring any donations during these times or speak with someone from the team to coordinate a different drop off day/time.

Evaluations / Tryouts for Majors division on Field 1 (Mandatory for all league-age 10-12 year old's and any 9 year old's interested in trying out for Majors) will be on January 11th and January 18th. You only need to attend 1 tryout. If you are re-entering the draft, you must tryout. Please add these dates to your calendars now.

Evaluations / Tryouts for Minors division on Field 3 (Mandatory for all league-age 8-9 year old's and any 7 year old's interested in trying out for Minors, who've not already attended a Majors tryout) will be on January 11th and January 18th. You only need to attend 1 tryout. If you are re-entering the draft, you must tryout. Please add these dates to your calendars now.

Grapefruit Divisions (Mandatory for all league-age 6-7 year old's, unless you've already tried out for Minors) will have a skill evaluation on January 18th and January 25th. 

T-Ball Division (League age 4-6 year old's) - Evaluations are not needed for this division

All Team Formations will take place January 21st through February 1st. Once the teams have been formed, you will be notified through your sports engine account.

Team Formation will be happening the week of September 9th. Once the teams are formed, you'll be contacted by your coach.  Practices and games will begin the following week. (Plan for practice every Sunday and one game throughout the week. If you have any team requests or even schedule requests, feel free to log back into your sports engine account to edit your registration and add those requests under the Coach/Team Requests line. We can't make any promises, but we'll do our best to accommodate.) Let's get ready for some Baseball!  See you all on the field soon.

Keep in mind, we do not host tryouts for Fall Ball. If your player is interested in moving up to a higher division in the Spring, we highly recommend you move them up in the Fall.  However, if your player does play in a higher division in the Fall, there is no guarantee they will play in that division in the Spring.

We have so many talented players in every age group this year!  If you're not familiar with the process, a private written vote for each teams roster is submitted by every Majors Manager, the Head Umpire and the President of our league. (They can be in the board room for hours during this process!)  The votes for each player, per team, are then tallied up and the teams for each age group are formed.
